The Avengers return to Vietnam to bury the body of their fallen teammate Swordsman, with the Priests of Pama. However, their trip takes an unexpected turn when the team is greeted by three old enemies; Radioactive Man, Crimson Dynamo, and Titanium Man!

After the shock death of the Swordsman in previous issues, Mantis is quite distraught and wants to leave. The Avengers convince her not too, but her request to visit Vietnam is accepted. While there, Mantis explores her origins while the Avengers reflect upon the Swordsmans death. Unfortunately their peace is interupted by 3 "villains" who call themselves the Titanic Three. All having bad feelings towards certain Avengers they attack with the help of the petty criminal the Slasher.
